Description:

Early Morning Vision: That Was Then, 2010 Art Quilt: Fused fabric pieces, digital transfer of lithograph "The Builders" by Harry Sternberg (1935 or 1936), hand embroidery, machine quilting. I caught sight of an old factory building with the early morning sun just rising above it in late winter. All of the foreground was in shadow. At the same time I was reading "When Art Worked" about art in the 1930's. The two just melded together.
